socks and sunny

Me he apuntado a un curso para aprender a tejer calcetines. ¡Sí sí! en pleno verano :) pero aquí no hace tanto calor como en España. Ayer estuvo lloviendo todo el día y parecía invierno, hoy por fin brilla de nuevo el sol y se está más calentito.

Mi curso de calcetines es de tres sabados. Mañana tengo la segunda clase y como deberes teníamos que tejer 20 cm de calcetín (para la parte de la pierna). Mañana Pauline (la profesora) nos enseñará a tejer el talón. Estoy muy emocinada porque nunca pensé que podría hacerlo y me gusta como está quedando. Espero que mañana Pauline me diga well done darling! :)

I signed up for a workshop to learn to knit socks. Yes, yes! in Summer :) but here it is not as hot as in Spain. Yesterday it was raining all day long and it felt like winter, but now at last the sun shines again and it is warmer.

My workshop is during three Saturdays. Tomorrow I'll have the second class and for homework we had to knit 20 cm of sock (the part of the leg). Tomorrow Pauline (the teacher) will teach us to knit the heel. I am excited because I never thought I could do it and I like it. I hope that tomorrow Pauline tells me "Well done darling!" :)

Ganchillear para otros casi es más satisfactorio que para una misma. Me encanta luego envolverlo con toda la ilusión del mundo, imaginándome la cara que pondrán cuando lo reciban. Las pequeñas cosas y si son hechas a mano por una misma son siempre más bonitas que el regalo más caro del mundo.

To crochet for presents is more pleasant than for myself. After that I like to wrap it with a nice paper and imagined the people's faces when they open it. I think that doing a small present for another person yourself, is always more beautiful than the most expensive present in the world.

ganchillo y sueños ▲ crochet and dreams

A veces pienso que trabajar en una oficina móvil y pequeñina pero rodeada de colorines y ricos sabores (como la de la primera foto) sería el mejor trabajo del mundo. Mientras sueño con trabajos gratificantes, y sonrio con libros de ilustraciones bonitas, hago pañitos de ganchillo, y pruebo nuevos puntos para cojines o cualquier otra ocurrencia.

Sometimes I think that to work in a small and mobile office but surrounded of colours and good taste (see the first picture) would be the best job in the world. While I dream with a cool job, I smile with books with nice ilustrations and doing crochet for cushion or other things.

Hice esta pelota de ganchillo para mi sobrinín. Es divertido para él porque es blandita, tiene muchos colorines que le llaman su atención y le gusta moverla porque en su interior tiene un cascabel. Parece una maraca :D

I made this crochet ball for my little nephew. This is fun for him because it's soft, it has a lot of colours and he loves to move it, because there is a bell inside. This ball is like a maraca :D

pequeñas cosas ▲ little things

Este es mi nuevo bote con funda de ganchillo, muy fácil de hacer y resultado genial. El plato tan chuli de pascua que ahora tenemos. La decoración que le hice al tuper que guarda nuestras bolsitas de te y un ule superbonito al que ya me lo imagino hecho un bolso impermeable para mi bici :)

This is my new bottle with crochet cover, it is easy to make with a nice result. The cute Easter plate than we have now. Handmade decoration for the te box. And a new waterproof fabric that I imagine as a bag for my bike :)

resumen de estos días ▲ summary of this days

¡Qué rápido se pasa el tiempo! no sabía como empezar después de tantos días sin aparecer por aquí, por eso os enseño en fotos todos los sitios por donde estuve este tiempo. Aún así he hecho cosinas handmade que en los próximos días os enseñaré. Ahora solo collages...

Time goes fast! After all this time, I didn´t know how to start again. That's why I show you pictures of the all places where I have been during this time. I made new stuff too and in following post I will show you them. Now only collages...

cenefas de papel ▲ paper border

Muchas veces veo en otros blogs tutoriales y hoy me apeteció hacer uno para vosotras, pero como es tan fácil tan fácil, creo que con las fotos ya está todo dicho. Se trata de hacer cenefas de papel para adornar estanterías. Simulan las de ganchillo, y sí, es cierto, las de ganchillo son infinitamente más preciosas, pero hasta que no me ponga a ello, éstas harán la misma función de decorar. Va dedicado a todas aquellas chicas que no disponen de mucho tiempo, dinero y les gusten las cosas bonitas. Espero que os guste :)

Many times I have seen tutorials in other blogs, and today I would like to make one myself. It's easy and you can make it if you follow the pictures. These paper borders are like crochet borders, although I know that these are more beautiful, I think that the paper ones are still very decorative. This post is to all girls that don't have any time, or money and love nice things. I hope you like it :)

Ayer hice esta tarta de zanahoria y hoy la desayunamos. Me gustan los platos altos para tartas, y a falta de uno, nos lo inventamos. El nuestro es práctico de guardar y original :)

Yesterday I was cooking this carrot cake and today we have it for breakfast. I like cake stands, but we don´t have one, we have made it ourselves. Ours is more practical, original and handmade :)

primavera ▲ spring

¡Bienvenida primavera! Está hecho con ganchillo y ya está en la puerta de entrada. Y esta cadeneta de corazones la hice con la ayuda de aquí . Son muy fáciles de hacer. Ahora adorna la pared cerca de mi ventana y queda así de guapa.

Welcome spring! This is made with crochet and it's on my door. I made this garland following this site. They are very easy to make. Now this garland is on the wall near the window and it's beautiful.

Pude enseñaros algunos bordados que mi madre hizo cuando estaba en la escuela, aquí, y ahora os enseño otros que también hizo, esta vez en un curso más avanzado. También conservan los papelitos con sus nombres. Me encantaría saber bordar así de bonito ♥

I showed you some embroidery that my mother made when she went to school, here, and now I present you some more. She made them when she was in the second course. They still have their names in pieces of paper. I would like to embroider so nice too ♥

nuevo punto ▲ new stitch

Ayer de tarde aprendí a tejer el punto arroz "punto del derechas y punto del revés sin hacerlos coincidir" ¿Cómo podía ser tan fácil y yo no saberlo? Hasta ahora solo sabía tejer el punto bobo. Estoy muy feliz con este descubrimiento :)

Yesterday I learnt to knitt this stitch. It's very easy, How is posible that I didn't know it before? Until now, I only knitted garter stitch. I'm very happy with this discovery :)

cojín de ganchillo ▲ crochet cushion

Aunque tengo varias labores empezadas, este fin de semana estuve haciendo esta funda de ganchillo para un cojín y no paré hasta terminarla. Está hecha con cuadraditos de ganchillo utilizando solo tres colores. Por la parte de atrás le bordé nuestras iniciales. Poco a poco vamos haciendo esta casa más nuestra (aunque ya sola es preciosa). Lo que más me gusta son sus grandes ventanales, que dán muchísima la luz. Aunque aquí los días de sol ultimamente se cuentan con los dedos de la mano.

Although I have many unfinished needledworks, this weekend I made this crochet cushion and I didn't stop until I finished it. I made it with granny squares, I used only three colours. I embroidered our initials at the back. Step by step we are making this house our home (although it's already very beautiful). I like its big windows and its day light. Although there are few sunny days here.

Y este cojín tan bonito lo tejió mi bisabuela hace ya bastantes años. Aún sigue en casa de mi güelita y me tiene enamorada. La última vez que estuve en su casa le hice esta foto esperando hacer uno igual, pero todavía es muy complicado para mí.

And this sweet cushion was knitted by my great-grandmother many years ago. It's in my grandmother's house and I love it. The last time that I was in her house I took a picture its. I could make the same cushion, but it's still too difficult for me.

adaptación ▲ adaptation

Como en todos los cambios se necesita un tiempo de adaptación, y en eso ando. Otro pais, otro idioma, otro clima.... (qué frío hace aquí). Pero me gusta :) Esta es mi nueva ventana y en ella una de mis plantas preferidas ♥

Like in all changes we need a time to adapt and that´s what I´m doing right now. Another country, another language, another weather... (It is very cold here!). But, I like it :) This is my new window and there is one of my favorite plants ♥

De Asturias me traje este costurero que hizo mi abuela para las lanas. Y ahora lo uso ya que con este frío continúa mi dedicación a esta labor. ¡Estoy tejiendo una bufanda a rayas!

From Asturias I brought this workbox made by my grandmother to keep the wool. And now I use it because with this weather I like to knit. I´m knitting a striped scarf!
